Welcome by The British Ambassador

I am delighted to have the opportunity of contributing a few words to the British School Quito's new website.  The School is a key member of the British community in Ecuador and was started in 1995 with the support of the then British Ambassador, Richard Lavers.

As Honorary President of the School it is a source of great pride as well as happiness to see the school flourishing and I was delighted when the School, deservedly, gained the two international accreditations in 2009.

When I first visited the School shortly after my arrival in May 2008 I was impressed by the commitment of staff, teachers and students to all aspects of School life and I must say I was touched by the courtesy and politeness with which I was received. While the School has high academic standards and expectations there is also much emphasis on a holistic approach to interaction with the students and the creation of a caring atmosphere.  READ MORE>>
